Frequently Asked Questions

This is where you can find the answers to as many questions as possible. If the answer to your question is not here please send us an email at bricksandblockslibrary@outlook.com.

How does Bricks and Blocks Library work?

You can borrow, build and repeat.

1. Browse and choose your sets.

2. Become a member or sign in to access our checkout page. We do this so we can send you updates about your order and keep track of your completed orders to access discounts, particularly for our 'Premium sets'.

3. Sets will be dispatched in 1-2 business days, accompanied with confirmation of your return date.

4. Enjoy your build.

5. When you are finished, or at the end of your one month rental period please use the brick separator provided to break the set back down into individual pieces. Pop it back into the bags it came in. It is important to keep the sets in their own bags if you have borrowed more than one set. Don't worry about the number bags, if your set came in numbered bags, as we will tip it all out to clean and check it before sorting it again.

6. Please reuse the box to package the sets back up. Attached the prepaid postage label securely. Pop it in a red AusPost mail box/parcel locker or drop it off at your nearest post office.

7. When it arrives back to us we will check it and clear you to borrow again. This usually takes 1-2 days.

8. You are now ready to order again.

How long can I borrow the sets for?

Each of our sets are priced for one month hire from dispatch of your set (not including return shipping time).

You will be sent an email upon dispatch of your order confirming the return date, the date we expect you to have posted it back to us.

If you would like to keep your set/s for longer than a month, that is not a problem. Please send us an email at bricksandblockslibrary@outlook.com and if there is no one waiting on the set we can arrange an extension for you.

What age is the Library suitable for?

The Bricks and Blocks Library is filled with options for all ages. No one is too old to play with bricks and blocks.

Each set does come with a recommended age as provided by the manufacturer.

We do issue a warning that the majority of sets contain small parts and are only appropriate for those aged 4 and above. These sets should be kept away from anyone 3 years or younger.

If you are looking for something for a younger child there are a number of Duplo sets available which are suitable from 18 months.

What type of sets can I borrow?

Our extensive Bricks and Blocks Library offers a wide variety of themes and challenges for all age groups and brick building abilities.

We are always adding new sets so if we don't have one you are after please request it and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

There are three categories of sets available:

Standard sets

Choose from a wide range of themes and levels of difficulty. Start with something small or choose to take on a more difficult build. These sets are valued up to $150 each and include up to 1000 pieces.

Set bundles

We sometimes group together smaller sets that are part of the same theme or that we think will go nicely together into a bundle. This way you get more sets included in your limit of 3!

Premium sets

Bigger builds for brick experts! Our 'Premium sets' are the more challenging, large, expensive or rare sets in the library. Each set is either over 1000 pieces, includes rare mini figures, is hard to find or is valued at over $150.

Visit the 'Our sets' page to see the full collection and don't forget to check back regularly as we are always adding more for you to borrow and enjoy!

Is there a limit on how many sets I can borrow?

You are restricted to 3 sets at a time including up to 1 'Premium set'. Please note where we have offered a bundle of smaller sets this would be classed as one set for the borrowing limit.

Please note if you exceed this number we will contact you to discuss which sets you would like to borrow, discuss your individual circumstances and issue a credit note/refund where appropriate.

If you would like to borrow more than 3 sets please reach out to us at bricksandblockslibrary@outlook.com and we can discuss your individual circumstances.

If you need longer than a month to complete your set/s – no problem! Reach out to us and we can renew your order, if there is no one on the waitlist. You will be issued a new invoice to be paid before keeping your sets for the next month.

How clean are the sets?

At Bricks and Blocks library hygiene is a priority.

After every borrow, we check, clean and sanitise each set thoroughly. After which each set is air dried, once fully dry each set is carefully packed away in air tight storage ready for the new person to enjoy.

All sets in the Bricks and Blocks Library meet Australian safety standards.

Do you offer local pickup and drop offs?

Yes we do! This service is free of charge so you won't need to pay any more than the borrowing cost of your sets.

Where can I find the build instructions?

For health and safety reasons, Bricks and Blocks Library will not send printed instruction books with your order.

We can safely clean and sanitise bricks with ease but unfortunately we can not guarantee the quality and hygiene standards of instruction books.

There are however, lots of ways to access the digital instructions and start building right away.

In your delivery:

Every set has a label with a QR code - scan this with your smart device for instant access to the digital building instructions.

On our website:

Each set listing also contains a link to take you directly to the relevant building instructions.

On the manufacturer's website:

Alternatively you can head directly to the manufacturer's website.

Lego instructions can be found here - https://www.lego.com/en-au/service/buildinginstructions/

These options are also listed inside your parcel so you can get building as quick as possible!

What is the 'Premium set' introductory period?

If you’re new to Bricks and Blocks Library, we ask you to complete a two order introductory period. If your first two orders have been returned to us in good condition, then we will issue you with a discount code for 75% off our 'Premiums sets'.

Our ‘Premium sets’ include those with more than 1000 pieces, are ‘rare’ sets or contain high valued mini figures.

By completing this introductory period, we’ll know that we can trust you to take good care of the most valuable sets we have. Sadly, we need to do this to combat the theft of high-value sets.

Help! There is a piece missing from my set. What do I do?

We don't want anything to spoil your Bricks and Blocks Library experience. That is why we do everything we can to make sure you get a complete set but the very nature of building with small bricks means that sometimes those tiny pieces can get away from us.

Having a small piece or two missing may not spoil your fun, as you can probably continue your build, but in the unlikely event that you cannot find the pieces you need, and it affects your build, here is what we recommend:

1. Double check the Bricks and Blocks Library packaging, all around your building area (it is amazing how far those little pieces can bounce and roll) and even inside larger pieces in the set.

2. Go back in the instructions and make sure that the piece has not been used somewhere else in the build by mistake.

If you still cannot find the piece after these checks, or the missing piece/s are significant and necessary to complete your build, please let us know. Email us at bricksandblockslibrary@outlook.com and include a picture of the missing piece/s (which can be taken from the instructions). If requested, we will be happy to arrange for the missing piece/s to be sent to you so you can enjoy the rest of your build as soon as possible.

Oh no, I've lost a piece! What should I do?

Sometimes accidents happen and bricks can go missing, even with the best intentions. If you notice that you have lost or damaged any pieces, please let us know as soon as possible. If it is only a few small and common pieces we may be able to replace them from our 'spares' at no extra cost to you.

Please be aware, though, that we always check our sets on return and there may be additional charges depending on what is missing. For more information, please see 'Missing Pieces' in our terms and conditions.

After returning a set, how long until I can borrow again?

Not long at all!

Once we receive your sets, we check them and clear you to borrow again. The current turn around time for this is 1-2 business days. We know you are keen to build again so we aim to make this process as quick as possible.

If you do place a new order and we have not received your current sets within a week, we may need to cancel your order until those sets arrive back to the Bricks and Blocks Library.

Can I change or cancel my order?

We try to be as flexible as possible.

If you have made an error or need to change or cancel your order please contact us as soon as possible at bricksandblockslibrary@outlook.com. We will work with you to solve your problem. It is helpful if you are able to contact us before your order is dispatched as we may no longer be able to amend your order once this has happened.

Can I make a request for a set?

Absolutely! We would love that. We know avid builders often have long wishlists and we would love to help you achieve these builds.

Please get in contact with us at BricksandBlocksLibrary@outlook.com or our request a set page.

Are your sets genuine?

All our sets are genuine brands, Lego, Megabloks or other as stated.

At Bricks and Blocks Library we want you to get the full experience of a set and as a result no substitute would do.
